Konvision Secures UHD 4K OB Van Project with India's National Broadcaster DDK

DDK(Doordarshan), India's premier public service broadcaster, has selected Konvision as a key display solution provider for its new fleet of UHD 4K OB Vans. This initiative reinforces DDK's commitment to delivering superior content with state-of-the-art broadcasting technology.

Building on a trusted partnership, DDK has once again turned to Konvision, having previously integrated hundreds of Konvision monitors across its operations. Konvision is now DDK's primary supplier for broadcast-grade display equipment.

For this UHD 4K OB van project, dozens of Konvision monitors were deployed, including the 17.3-inch 4K HDR monitor (Model: KUM-1710W) and the 4.1-inch 12G-SDI 4K Quad Rackmount Monitor (Model: KRM-404U). These units serve as critical tools for directors, providing real-time video monitoring and ensuring precise picture control.

1. Key features of Konvision's 4K monitors in this OB Van include:

• HDR Picture Quality: It supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) monitoring with standard HLG and PQ curves, delivering enhanced contrast, smoother color gradients, and exceptional detail accuracy.

• Comprehensive Signal Interfaces: It is equipped with 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, and HDMI interfaces, supporting mixed signal inputs from 4K to HD/SD. Allows for rapid source switching and multi-view monitoring.

         Note: KRM-404U does not support quad-view functionality due to screen size.

• Advanced Monitoring Tools: Integrated with essential tools like 4K HDR waveforms, vectorscopes, histograms, focus assist, aspect ratio markers, and safe area guides. These facilitate real-time adjustments for optimal exposure and composition.

• Operational Efficiency: Designed for simplicity and speed, featuring shortcut keys and scene presets for quick configuration. The innovative 'Screen Select' function on rackmount models enables centralized control of multiple displays from a single interface.

• Robust Build Quality: Housed in durable aluminum chassis with optimized internal layout, ensuring reliability and stability for demanding field production environments.

2. Featured Monitors in this Project:

• KUM-1710W17.3-inch 4K HDR Monitor (KUM-1710W): Features a 3840×2160 IPS panel in a compact form factor, suitable for mounting. With 12G-SDI/HDMI 2.0 loop-through interfaces, it recognizes Log pipeline from major camera brands (e.g., Sony, Canon) and intelligently maps it to standard color space and EOTF, ensuring color fidelity. Includes HDR to SDR conversion for simultaneous HDR/SDR production.

• KRM-404U4.1-inch 12G-SDI 4K Quad-Rack Monitor (KRM-404U): Comprises four 4.1-inch 720p IPS panels in a standard 19-inch 2RU rack-mount design. Supports HDR and features 12G-SDI/HDMI 2.0 inputs per screen, handling up to 4Kp60. Offers a dedicated waveform display mode on a single screen for precise lighting adjustment.
