Super Nova Games, an online reality show where former professional athletes coach young idols to compete in sports games, kicked off Nov 1 at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai.
Three days event featured nearly 150 participants, including members from pop bands Rocket girls 101, SNH48 and more.
The variety shows, sports and e-sports competition will be produced and broadcast simultaneously. Therefore, three production teams were arranged in the three days live broadcast. These teams are responsible for the production of the opening ceremony, regular sports and Arena of Valor. Tencent studio technology center provided the technical support for the whole set of broadcasting.
Two venues of the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center were rented for the Supernova Games. The broadcasting system was also divided into primary system and secondary system. The primary system is responsible for the production of opening and closing ceremony, athletics and e-sports. The secondary system is responsible for the live broadcast of swimming events.
The primary system adopted the “Penguin” OB van which provided by Tencent studio technology center.
The “Penguin” OB van can provide 32 stations, which is one of the largest OB van in China. Through reasonable arrangement, it can meet the needs of 3 production teams during the three days live production.
The main production OB van technology area contains 5 dimming stations and 1 EIC station. The audio area contains 2 turning stations and an AIC station.
The auxiliary OB van is mainly responsible for main venue program packaging, network backup broadcasting, and dimming stations. The auxiliary provides fixed station.
The main venue’s production system provides a total of 38pcs cameras, including 19pcs standard cameras, 1pcs super high-speed camera, 2pcs high speed cameras, 1pcs Steadicam wireless camera, 1pcs handheld wireless camera, 1pcs 3D ropeway camera, 1pcs high-speed track camera, 1pcs track camera, and 11pcs micro-cameras. Among the cameras, the 3D ropeway camera can realize AR (Augmented Reality) technology.
The auxiliary system provides a total of 12pcs cameras, including 7pcs standard cameras, 1pcs super high-speed camera, 2pcs high-speed cameras, 1pcs handheld wireless camera and 1pcs under water camera. This auxiliary system is responsible for the live broadcasting of swimming event. The auxiliary system output signals to the main system through the fiber channel.
